GOOSE CREEK

Goose Creek is a city in Berkeley County, and was established in 1961. It got its name from a group of colonists called, "Goose Creek men" who settled near a creek. Even with rapid growth starting in the 1970’s Goose Creek has maintained a balance between growth and preservation. While in close proximity to both Summerville and Charleston, many residents live, work and raise their families within the slower less congested Goose Creek community. The Naval Weapons Station Charleston has played a major role in United State’s military history, and most of it is located is in Goose Creek. NWSC is known for training Sailors for duty aboard the world’s most sophisticated nuclear aircraft carriers and submarines and a logistics hub, shipping military cargo and supplies worldwide. 

Goose Creek has over a dozen highly rated public schools and the well known Goose Creek High School of the Arts (BCA Program). Goose Creek suburban residences are more affordable when compared to the cities median income. From older ranch homes to new construction in over 70 subdivisions.
